Welcome!
My name is Zohra Mekki, and I am a visual artist based in Boston, MA. Growing up in Bucks County Pennsylvania, I attended a Waldorf School where creativity was woven into every aspect of my life. It was there that I first fell in love with the world of art, finding a way to tell stories through imagery rather than words. I continued to pursue this passion at Syracuse University, earning an undergraduate's degree in illustration.
During my time at SU, I was blessed enough to be a part of a study abroad program in Florence, Italy in the spring of 2024. To say that this experience changed my life would be an understatement. Being immersed in such a cultural city beaming with art, I fell back in love with the creativity of illustration, proving to myself that this was the correct path for me for the future.
I’m drawn to making work that feels immersive and emotionally grounded, built through color, composition, and instinct. I am interested in how art can evoke feeling, invite curiosity, and encourage viewers to slow down and connect more deeply with what they see.
